All Volkwagen 4 cylinder heads use basically 2 different head bolt part numbers. All 4 cylinder, 8 valve, gas from '75-97 use #SN12306. This includes Rabbit, Golf, Jetta, Dasher, and Scirocco. All VW Diesels from '77-81 also use #SN12306. All VW Diesels from '83-04 use the 12mm bolt, #SN15551. This includes TDI's. 16V, VS-6, & 1.8 Turbos use special bolts--Call.
Head Bolts, Diesels
VW makes two different length head bolts. LOOK AT the picture! If your car is '77-81; it uses 11mm bolts. If it's '83-03, it uses 12mm. In between it could be either - measure, call. Almost all gas cars use 11mm bolts.
