VW/Audi 1.8T timing belt tension pulley. The timing belt tensioner is as critical as the timing belt itself. At minimum it must be carefully examines and/or replaced every 3 years/90k miles.

Instead of only replacing the VW/Audi 1.8t timing belt tension pulley, you should go for the complete timing kit. It includes this pulley and every other part you need to pull off a proper timing belt replacement. As always the proper tools will make any job easier. The wrench shown below will help you get your timing belt tension set correctly.
