Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW driveshaft. This driveshaft is for 4-cylinder Jettas, Golfs, and Cabrios that have flat style inner CV joints. Our remanufactured driveshafts have been totally disassembled, cleaned, inspected and remanufactured by a specialty drive shaft re-builder. Parts are replaced to make them meet new standards, reassembled, greased, sealed, painted and packaged. Good as new but more affordable! $50.00 core charge. Check the fitment section below to make sure your car has the required setup for this style driveshaft.

Condition: Remanufactured

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

The easiest way for a DIYer to correct a CV joint problem is to replace the entire VW driveshaft as an assembly. By buying an 8 point Allen star and the 30mm socket a novice mechanic can replace the entire assembly in 1/2 an hour. (Remove the drive shaft by removing the 30mm nut out by the wheel, then the 8 bolts on the inner CV, drop the inner end of the CV down and pull it out toward the transmission. Now you can remove the wheel bearing assembly and replace it).
