Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW Beetle clutch cable. Inspect your clutch cable any time you are doing clutch or transmission repairs. Clutch cables stretch and eventually won't allow the clutch to function properly. Replace yours if it shows any signs of wear and tear.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

A bad VW Beetle clutch cable can lead to odd wear on your clutch disc if it was binding and not allowing full engagement. If you have been ignoring the clutch cable for a long time in your Beetle you will want to pick up a clutch kit to make sure your transmission is fully engaged. Why not add some high quality gear oil to your order. The synthetic gear oil shown below will give you smoother shifts and extend your transmission service intervals.
