Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

part number: 2292

VW Bus front wheel cylinder. Front wheel cylinders are the simple hydraulic devices to push the brake shoes against the inside of the drum. They are easy to replace and should be carefully inspected for signs of leakage or corrosion any time you are working on your brakes. The VW Bus has 2 front wheel cylinders. This wheel cylinder is for the passenger side upper and driver side lower. #2291 is the opposite.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

If your Bus wheel cylinders have been leaking you should replace the brake drums and shoes at the same time. Brake fluid will coat the braking surfaces and create a glaze that makes the brake drum and shoe ineffective at stopping your VW Bus.
