Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW brake check valve. This original equipment, direct fit check valve sits on a vacuum line leading to the brake booster servo. It allows vacuum pressure in the brake booster servo, and doesn’t let any out. If your brake pedal feels stiffer than normal, you will want to start investigating the check valve, and vacuum lines leading to the power brake booster.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

If your VW brake check valve does not solve any of your braking issues, the vacuum leak is coming from another source. It is common for the power brake servo, shown below, to fail. Also your master cylinder could have failed. You can’t repair the master cylinder so it must be replaced. A popular master cylinder for the Golf and Jetta is shown below.
